Christmas Tree Cupcake

Christmas is in the air. Jingles at Starbucks. Scrambling to get gifts in order. I like making stained glass cookies this time of the year. They look like the ornaments :). This year, I'm going to join the cupcake force! Why not, it's Christmas!!

Christmas design possibilities are endless! But I really wanted to make a tree out of a cupcake that's 3D, simple yet full of Christmas spirit. My 3D decorations are usually gum paste but I opted for buttercream so it can be eaten with the cupcake.

Cupcake flavors were chocolate, vanilla, spice and red velvet. After piping the buttercream leaves & decorating with colorful candies, the cupcake looked cute! With bright yellow buttercream ball on top and icing dust, it looked even more adorable!!

Merry Christmas everyone! ♥

Luau Cake

My friend is throwing a surprise luau birthday party. The cake to go with that; not-so-sweet Luau Cake.

Strawberry cream is nice and fresh for summer pool party and definitely mild on sweetness. Chocolate covered pretzel sticks added tiki touch and color contrast to soft pink of the cream. Last but not least, large hibiscus flowers for eye-catcher :). I used gum paste to be stable and to look as real as it could be. Little bit of red dusting on the petal added life in the flowers and it was ready to go on the cake!

Running Trail Cake ~Vegan version~

Surprising birthday bash plan is in the works among our running friends! It was no brainer that the cake will be running theme. The cake was vegan - chocolate cake with tofutti cream cheese frosting. A running trail lined with trees would be perfect. Pretzel sticks come in handy for many occasions :). I piped green icing around it...cute ♥

Grass was put down with green tinted coconut flake. Icing trees were put up. A finish banner to add the finishing touch...so the road is a running course :D.

Country-themed bridal shower cake can only give me happy thoughts.

It had to have chocolate covered pretzel stick sides and raffia to give it a country feel :). I found red and white gerbera daisies. I ♥ them. They're simple yet elegant. Their solid colors are never overwhelming and they come in multitude of colors. They're safe on food but never know if anyone can be allergic etc. I put them in the flower wells that can be inserted onto a cake. The wells also help keep flowers fresh longer because it holds a small amount of water.

What an honor. Congratulations!
