My friend is moving out of town. For her bon voyage BBQ get-together, I wanted to make something special. It'll be good weather with sangria and grilled goodness. I thought Mango Cream Cake would be a winner. Sides will be coated with shredded coconuts to add the tropical feel :).

Snake Cake ~
Snake cake, snake cake...could have gone tongue-sticking rattle snake or friendly garden snakes.
For my friend's birthday, his girlfriend had an idea to surprise him with a snake cake for the year of the snake :D. My vision was colorful snakes dotting the garden...the friendly kind :). I shaped Portuguese orange cookies into snake shape and iced it with bright yellow and blue. Eyes made it kind of real... I also made agave-like leaves out of gum paste where the snakes would hang out.
Request of red velvet and cream cheese frosting cake was coated with crushed chocolate graham crackers. Here is to the year of snake! Happy birthday!

Pink Elephant Cake
Birthday girl loves the pink elephant. It's going to be fun!
Strawberry cream has soft pink tone and it would be perfect :). From a 1/4 sheet cake, I carved out one big elephant. A big ear was definitely a must and light pink lacked a oomph. That's where red coconut flakes came in.
